OPINION: Dan-Ali: Defending The Defenceless
By Haruna Yusuf
There are straight opinions across the country about Mansur Dan-Ali as Defense minister in the first term of President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration, because overwhelming masses especially the northeast/west say, he has performed remarkably well, in his three years and some months in office as the Minister of Defence.
He was extremely excellent in combating terrorism in the northeast/west and has the most efficient key figure in reshaping strategy both on counter terrorists, fighting of boko haram and the rumblings of kidnapping, armed banditry and all other forms of criminality across the country.
Going by Dan-Ali’s antecedents, his term as defense minister have achieved quite a milestone in his little service to the nation, ad he excelled security wise and distinguished himself as an outstanding minister of defense, if and only the reports making the rounds are anything to go by.
Men make history and not the other way round, in periods where there is no leadership, society stands still, progress occurs when courageous, skillful leaders seize the opportunity to change things for the better.
Mansur Mohammed Dan-Ali is an outstanding servant to be emulated. After his service as the defense minister, he will never accede to being unduly recognized across the country, but he prefer to work hard in silence and let his achievements make the noise.
And this piece will not attempt to rob him of that distinguishing attribute, nevertheless, i strongly believe it would be a disservice to humanity if the noble deeds of this silent achiever are allowed to remain unsung.
Dan-Ali is truly a quite achiever, he delivered with fuss, solved problems and delivered solutions to Nigeria’s security threats, very innovative and above all, he inspired Nigerians.
