An upper Area Court in Yola Friday ordered an injunction restraining the Miyetti Allah cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) from conducting any elections in Adamawa.

The presiding judge of the court, Abubakar Muhammad  granted an interim injunction barring MACBAN  from conducting election, congress or any gathering for the purpose of determining  the leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association in Adamawa pending the hearing and determination of the case.

The order was given following a motion ex parte filed by  Abubakar Yirlabe, Usman Liman ,Adamu Bodewa and Gambo  Ardo Sira, claiming that they were  excluded from purchasing nomination forms and other process in the scheduled state elections.

The plaintiffs had alleged that some powerful members of the group had hatched plans to stop some aspirants from contesting, “It has come to our attention the desperate moves by some ousted leaders to upturn the mandate of our members.

“One of the alleged moves is to secretly screen and conducts the elections with only few aspirants.

“They intend to hijack the state caretaker chairman and that prompted us to seek redress and as you can see the court had restrained them from conducting the election pending the determination of this case,’’ said Abubakar Yirlabe one of the aggrieved member.

The case was adjourned to February 3 ,2020, for the hearing of a motion on an interlocutory injunction.
