The military and other security agencies operating in Monguno axis of Borno have held meeting on the need for more synergy in securing the area from insurgents.
A statement on Wednesday by Maj. Ojo Ifedayo Adenegan, the Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations of Sector 3 Operation Hadin Kai and Multinational Joint Task Force Monguno, said the meeting was held at the task force headquarters in Monguno.
The meeting was initiated by the Sector 3 Commander, Maj. Gen. Godwin Mutkut, who harped on sustaining the existing synergy between the sector and other security agencies operating in the axis for maximum successes.
Mutkut who was represented by the sector’s Garrison Commander, Col. E.E Agada, also urged for information sharing within the security agencies and the need for prompt response to security issues and market surveillance to deter collaborators and logistics suppliers to insurgents freedom of action in Monguno axis.
“A meeting was also held with the Civilian Joint Task Force, Community leaders and others stakeholders at the Palace of the District Head in Monguno, on the need for information sharing where the locals were sensitized on how to report and avoid tempering with suspected Unexploded Improvise Explosive Device within their environment.
“Members of Non Governmental Organizations were not left out in the security meeting and Sensitization.
“Security Agencies represented at the meeting were the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp and Nigeria Immigration Service,” Adenegan added.
