Counter Insurgency: Monguno Community Leaders, NGOs Visit Sector 3

Leaders of Monguno Community in Borno have paid solidarity visit to the newly appointed Commander Sector 3 “Operation Hadin Kai” and Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Brig. Gen. Abdusalami E. Abubakar.

A statement on Friday by Major Ojo Ifedayo Adenegan, the Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations of the command, said members of Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in the area also paid similar visit.

“The District Head of Monguno Community, Baba Wakili Mustapha led  Monguno Community leaders for a courtesy visit to the new Commander Sector 3 Operation Hadin Kai and Multinational Joint Task Force , Brigadier General Abdusalami E Abubakar at the Sector Headquarters in Monguno.

“In his remarks, the District  Head welcome Brigadier General Abdusalami Abubakar to Monguno in second time, he stated further that the Sector Commander has proved to be a professional solder when he was the Commanding Officer of 242 Recce Battalion in same Kinnasara Cantonment Monguno and said no doubt that his second coming will surely sustain and add up to security of lives and property in Monguno and its environs.

“He promise that the Community will continue to support the Sector for more success in the fight against Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province.

“Brigadier General Abdusalami Abubakar in his remarks, thanked the District Head and other leaders of the Community for the visit and promise to sustain the existing coordial relationship between the Sector and the community.

“He urged the members of the community to extend same cooperation given to the former Commander to him in order to record more achievements in combating the insurgents in the Northern Borno .

“Similarly, members of NGOs also paid the new Commander courtesy visit same day”, the statement added.

It said the Team Leader of the NGOs,  Mr Samuel Okoh, lauded the existing cordial relationship between the NGOs and the sector and urged for sustenance to enhance the needed atmosphere for humanitarian services in the area.

“In his remarks, the Sector Commander promised to sustain the relationship and enabling environment for delivery of more humanitarian services to the locals,” the statement noted.
