The Commander Sector 3 of Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Bagasola in Chad Republic, Brig. Gen. Djouma Youssouf Mahamat has on paid an operational visit to Headquarters Sector 3 Operation HADIN KAI/MNJTF in Monguno.
A statement by the Spokesman of the Sector 3, Capt. Babatunde Zubairu, said the Mahamat was recieved by the Sector Commander 3 of Sector 3 Operation Hardin Kai/MNJTF, Maj.Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar.
“In his remarks, the Commander Sector 3 OPHK/MNJTF emphasised on the need for both Sectors to also intensify joint amphibious operations utilising the impressive array of offensive amphibious assets recently acquired along the Lake Chad waterways contiguous to both countries to enhance the entire dominance of the Lake Chad Basin in a bid to rid the area of terrorist activities.
“Responding, the visiting Sector 2 Commander MNJTF, who was represented by the Deputy Commander Sector 2 MNJTF Brigadier General Oumar Adam Taher Silick thanked his host for the warm reception while acknowledging the need for enhanced synergy between both Sectors.
“He reiterated that Sector 2 looks forward towards collaborating with Sector 3 in the coming days to sustain the tempo of operations aimed at restoring lasting peace to the Lake Chad Basin communities to enable socio economic activities pick up once again,” the statement added.
Highlights of the visit include the presentation of souvenirs and wreath laying at the Sector 3 Cenotaph in honour of all departed heroes who paid the supreme sacrifice.
Members of the entourage from Chad include the Commander Sub Sector 2 MNJTF, Colonel Mahamat Borgou; Commander Sub Sector 1 MNJTF, Col Adam Daidoru; Commander 18 Regiment, Col Al-hadj Brahim.
Others are Commander 1 Regiment and Col Abdou Yahaya Issak, while Commander HQ 19 Bde, Brigadier General EA Orakwe, Commander 403 Amphiboius Brigade, Brigadier General AO Ajagbe as well as other Commanders and Principal Staff Officers of Headquarters Sector 3 OPHK/MNJTF were also all in attendance.
