The Borno chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) Aspirants Forum, has urged the National Secretary of the Forum, Alhaji Yusuf Sheriff Modu to run for the office of National Working Committee (NWC) in the coming Feb. 26 National Convention of the party.
Presenting the forum’s position at a press conference held at APC Sectretariat Complex in Maiduguri on Friday, the Borno Coordinator of the forum, Kachalla Grema Kyari said the call became necessary because of Sheriff’s contribution to the success of the party at all levels during the past general elections.
“The call became necessary due to the magnitude of contributions he made to the successes of the party at Local, State and Federal level during 2015 and 2019 general elections.
“Yusuf Sheriff Modu single handedly formed, coordinated and nurtured the APC Aspirants Forum from its inception at the cradle to where it was today.
“The forum had its structure in all 774 LGA, 36 states including FCT and National body whose leadership is piloted by him as the National Secretary and Abdul’azeez Musa Yar’adua and the National Coordinator,” Kyari said.
Kyari who didn’t announced the position they wanted Sheriff to contest, said the forum remain ready to purchased form for him based on any position he chosed to contest.
“In view of the above, the forum is soliciting compassionately to the leadership of APC and indeed the entire APC stakeholders of the state to drum support toHo. Yusuf Sheriff Modu o as to actualaize the dream.
“Therefore, the forum is calling on Sheriff to declare his intention within 24 hours as nomination forms for the post of NWC will be purchased for him by Borno APC aspirants forum when the sales of forms commence..” Kyari promised.
He re-iterated the support of the forum to leadership of President Muhammadu, Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno, Sen. Kashim Shettima and State party Chairman.
