Confusion: Bauchi Assembly passes 3 bills on repealing of properties recovery tribunal, others

The Bauchi state house of assembly on Wednesday passed 3 bills into law to repeal the state public property and funds recovery tribunal of 2017 in the state.

Others are bill to create additional districts ,village areas and Hamlets in the state and bill to prohibit blockage of highways and other major streets within the township of Bauchi

The motion on the creation of additional districts ,village areas and Hamlet’s and that of repeal of public property and fund recovery tribunal was moved by the deputy Majority leader Honourable Abdullahi Abdulkadir representing Bura Constituency in the floor of house and seconded by Sale Nabayi Gajuwa west and Magaji Inuwa Jama’are constituency respectively.

While the bill for the blockage of highways and other major streets within the township of Bauchi was moved by Majority leader Tijjani Aliyu and seconded by Yunusa Ahmed Warji Constituency

The Speaker Kawuwa Damina who opened the motion for the deliberation in the floor of the house three bills past first ,second and third reading without objections from any of the 13 members who seated Wednesday out of 31 members.

Mr speaker then sought the understanding of the people over the new law and assured that the state assembly would monitor its implementation when assented to by the governor, to ensure its effectiveness.

Mr Damina appealed to the governor to signed the bill into law and to ensure effective sensitisation of the people to key in into the new law and see reason for the passed of the bill.

In a swift reaction Honourable Aminu Tukur representing Lere/Bula constituency said the bill was passed with a motives best known to the speaker of the house

According to him, it’s unfortunate that 13 members out 31 Members we’re call secretly to converse in the house out of the usual time which 10 but the sitting commencement 9 am today Wednesday being a regular person that falls among the first three that comes to the house.

“The 13 members were the cronies that dance to the tune of the outgoing governor and the had a plan and it was hatch accordingly.

He said the two bills were brought by the executive arms of government one is a repeal bill that was promulgated and pass and assented by the governor Abdullahi Abubakar in 2017 recovery of public properties from the past governor.

“The law was put In place to serve as deterrent to whoever misappropriate the funds of the citizens since, he the governor failed to secure his second term in office connived with the coronies to assemble in the house by 9 am today Wednesday,” he said

“The second bill which has to do with creation of additional districts, villages and Hamlet’s was smuggle in by the cronies had pass the first , second and third reading to become law against the consent of 18 Members of the house.

“The cronies do it such a way that the bill passes first ,second and third reading to enabled them hasten it for the governor to assent it and it’s becomes a law.

He described the act of the speaker and the cronies as ungodly ,the citizens will not forgives them for that and that is tantamount to induced chaos in
