CAN Chairman during the courtesy visit to the MD/CEO of NEDC
The Borno Chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has commended the North East Development Commission (NEDC) for its laudable and all inclusive programmes aimed at touching the lives of all citizens without discrimination.
The State Chairman of CAN, Rev. Father John Bakeni, made the commendation during a courtesy visit to the Commission’s headquarters in Maiduguri.
Bakeni expressed appreciation over the policies of openness and fairness of the commission which continue to ensure that everyone is carried along in the distribution of social amenities and other interventions irrespective of tribe or religion in the state and region in general.
While acknowledging the provision of two solar powered boreholes and 50 street lights to the association by the commission, Bakeni expressed CAN appreciation and willingness to work together with the NEDC towards actualizing its laudable mission and vision of revamping the northeast region.
The CAN chairman used the opportunity to pray for the management and staff of the commission to continue to prosper in their efforts in meeting the mandate for which the commission was established.
“We have come here as a body just to say thank you and to encourage you and the Commission for the beautiful work you are doing.
“We thank the Federal Government for seeing it necessary to establish such a strategic organization to ensure reconstruction and rehabilitation of the region affected by insurgency,“ Bakeni said.
In his remarks, the MD/CEO, Mohammed G. Alkali thanked the CAN delegation for the visit and assured them of the commitment of NEDC to continue to carry every group along in its interventions.
The NEDC established in 2017 has the mission to lead in the reconstruction and development of the North East region devastated by the decade long insurgency.
