The Borno State outgoing Head of Service, Barr. Simon Malgwi has on Friday formally hand over to the new Acting Head of Service, Barr. Mallam Fannami.
Speaking at the handing and taking over ceremony at the state Secretariat on Maiduguri, Malgwi thanked God for seeing him through and expressed gratitude to Governor Babagana Zulum for giving him the opportunity serve as head of service.
Malgwi also thanked the state Deputy Governor, Secretary to the State Government, Permanent Secretaries and the entire state civil service for the support accorded him to deliver in the onerous task.
“I also want to thank my family and friends for thier support,” Malgwi said.
The outgoing head of service who has been given new appointment as
Special Adviser on legal and Administrative Matters to Governor Zulum, further thanked the Governor and reiterated his commitment to continue to do his best.
While speaking on his working experience with his successor, the outgoing head of service elugized his successor who he said remain a capable hand that possessed the capacity to deliver.
In his remarks, the Acting head of service, Barr Fannami also thanked God and Gov. Zulum for the appointment and promised to build on achievements of his predecessor.
He urged civil servants to ensure promptness and discipline at work for maximum result in reciprocation of government support in transforming the civil service.
Earlier, the Chairman of Borno State Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Bulama Mali Gubio who congratulated Malgwi for a meritorious tenure and appointed as Special Adviser.
Mali Gubio said the new appointment was well deserved deserved, adding that Malgwi was to good to be allowed to go hence the new appointment.
“We need need every capable hand,” Mali Gubio said.
While describing Malgwi as a hard working and level headed gentleman, Mali Gubio said his successor also have the capacity to continue where Malgwi stopped.
Speaking on behalf of Malgwi family and friends, Mr Ndahi also eulogized the outgoing and incoming head of service and urged for public support to the personalities in thier new assignments as SA and head of service.
Also speaking, Personal Assistant (PA) to the outgoing head of service, Yoksa J. Malgwi also thank Gov. Zulum for finding his boss worthy of appointment as head of service and SA on on legal and administrative matters on retirement.
“We pray for God guidance and protection over his life. I refer his Excellency as Moses that God send to deliver his people from bondage. We than him and urge him to continue the good work he has been doing”, Yoksa said.
Other personalities who spoke at the occassion included Borno Chairman of SUBEB, representative of Permanent Secretaries among others. The all eulogized Malgwi and his successor and wish the the best in new places of assignment.
