Borno State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has congratulated Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno for his re-election for a second term in office.
The council Chairman, Comrade Dauda Iliya in a statement signed by the Secretary, Chiroma Ali Ibrahim, said Zulum’s overwhelming victory in the hitch free election reflected the wishes and aspirations of the electorate in the state.
“The NUJ Borno State Council also notes that the first four years of his administration had invested in the areas of security, education, healthcare, agricultural, resettlement and rehabilitation of displaced persons and reconstrution of the devastated communities.
“The union therefore urges Governor Zulum to consolidate on the achievements recorded by investing on youths in areas of technology and innovation, small and medium enterprises as well as reviving and setting up of more factories and industries to mop up the teeming unemployed youths.
“NUJ also urges people the state to continue to cooperate with the State Government in its effort towards repositioning the state which has suffered more than decade-long crisis occasioned by activities of Boko Haram insurgency.
