Borno NUJ Condemns Attack On Gov Zulum’s Convoy

The Borno Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ), has condemned Wednesday attack on the convoy of Babagana Zulum in Baga town of Kukawa Local Government Area.

A statement on Friday by the Secretary of the council, Mohammed Ibrahim, said Journalists in the state condemned in strong terms the unfortunate development.

It urged the resilience people of Borno to continue to support the fight against insurgency by providing timely and useful information to security agencies.

“The Chairman NUJ Borno Council Comrade Bulama Talba on behalf of all working journalists in the state condemns in strong terms the attack on Governor Babagana Umara Zulum”s convoy in Baga town of Kukawa LGA.

“The Union salutes the untiring effort of the Governor Zulum administration in seeing to return with dignity of displaced people of Borno from various liberated areas evident in continuous and numerous distribution of food and cash assistance at the grassroots.

“We also appreciate reopening of many roads leading to hitherto displaced areas championed by Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum which will indeed foster resumption as well as boost socio-economic activities of the affected communities.

“NUJ calls on good citizens of Borno to continue to complement their resilience against the insurgency with timely information that will add to more successes of the country’s gallant Armed Forces in their mandate to restore lasting peace in the state and wish all a happy sallah,” the statement added.
