As part of its support to enhance the operations of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Borno, the State Government has presented a fire truck to the state command of FRSC.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony on Saturday in Maiduguri, the Borno Commissioner of Information and Culture, Alhaji Babakura Abba Jato who represented Gov. Babagana Zulum at the occassion, said the gesture was in appreciation of FRSC activities in state and the need to enhance it.
Jato said the FRSC as a leading player in ensuring safety on the roads that involved a lot of challenges including fire outbreaks during fatal accidents, deserved all support from government that would make it more effective.
Also speaking at the ceremony, Rep. Zanna Usman of Kaga/Gubio/Magumeri Federal Constituency of Borno who is also the Chairman House of Representatives Committee on FRSC, lauded the development which he said would further enhance the good working relationship between the state government and FRSC.
In his remarks, the Borno Sector Commander of FRSC, Sanusi K. Ibrahim, lauded the gesture as a welcome development that would enhanced the operations of FRSC, particularly during road accidents that involved fire.
Ibrahim thanked Gov Zulum and Rep. Usman for their active involvement in making the donation a reality inline with the yearnings of the FRSC Corps Marshal.
Ibrahim said that FRSC would trained some personnel for effective handling of the truck.
