Boko Haram: Bishop Mamza visits IDP Housing Project

The Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza has expressed satisfaction with the pace of work on the construction of eighty-six housing estate for the internally displaced persons at Sangere-margi in Gerie local Government area.

Bishop Dami Mamza who stated this Saturday while supervising the project expressed happiness at the pace and quality of work.

“So far twenty houses have been built out of the eighty-six. And the work has also created job opportunity for the host community as ninety percent of the workforce are from the area” explained the Bishop.

He further maintained that “the plan for the school project for their children is being finalized and very soon that too will begin.”

Bishop Dami Mamza continues to extend his sentiments of gratitude to Missio and the faithful of the Catholic Diocese of Yola for their support and still calls on individuals, organizations to ensure that those faced with challenges such as the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are assisted.

In his remark, the site Engineer, Christain Ileagu thanked people of the area for their support and cooperation.

Also speaking, a resident of Sangere-Margi, Samuel Peter thanked Bishop Dami Mamza for coming up with the project “because it has also assisted our youths in finding something to do to support themselves financially.”

It could be recalled that two weeks ago, Bishop Dami Mamza laid a foundation for eighty-six housing units of semi-detached bungalow for the IDPs in the state.
