The Middle belt Youth Forum for Good Governance, has tongue lashed the federal government for abandoning Benue state Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in camps, purportedly and untransparently spent N9.9 billion on handwashing.
While addressing journalists today in Makurdi, the Benue state capital, the new spokeman of the group Mr. Dauda Gang, accused the President Muhammadu Buhari’s government of pampering blood thirsty Boko Haram insurgents and at the same time maltreating victims of herders’ attacks.
Gang pointed out that the killings in Benue, Plateau and southern Kaduna has made thousands to become IDPs but the federal government has not sent relief materials to cushion their suffering.
” It is now clear to Nigerians that president Muhammadu Buhari belongs only to few northerners especially his kinsmen and those with affiliation with his religion,” he said.
He challenged the federal government to publish the number of Youths that benefited from the purported N93 billion state by state to clear the allegations that the money was diverted for third term campaign.
Gang who was furious and visibly angry over what he described as maltreatment of Middle belt people, blamed some governors in the region for betraying the people for their selfish political interest.
” Apart from governor Dr. Samuel Ortom, others are dancing on the graves of the innocent people killed by Fulani herdsmen. When travellers were killed in Plateau state by unknown gunmen, the governor, Samuel Lalong, visited for condolence, but he has never visited any Christian family killed by herdsmen,” he stated.
He urged all middle belt elders and youth groups to speak out and reject the ill treatment of the people of the region with the last drop of their blood.
Gang said that his group will never surrender to the kingdom of darkness, oppression and government’s intimidation, pointing out that the group will remain resilient despite the oppressive nature of the present administration.
