Barr. Aliyu Wakili Boya: The man with the Midas touch, the face of our future
By Abubakar Hassan Kapo
It has been a long time since the people of Fufore/Song Federal Constituency witnessed the true dividends of democracy until the emergence of Hon. Barrister Aliyu Boya Wakili as our representative in the House of Representatives in 2023.
The primary mandate of a legislator is to make laws and perform oversight functions. While previous office holders carried out these duties to some extent, Hon. Aliyu Boya has gone above and beyond, using his position to attract multi-billion-naira developmental projects to the constituency.
One of the most notable is a major road construction project a cross-border road connecting Nigeria and Cameroon. Once completed, this road is expected to be of national significance, facilitating trade, movement, and international cooperation. Both Nigerians and Cameroonians are already praying for its success and expressing gratitude to Hon. Boya for his visionary leadership.
Before his emergence, the only notable constituency projects in the area of water supply were hand pump boreholes. However, under Hon. Boya’s tenure, we have seen the installation of industrial scale boreholes across the constituency a much needed improvement that reflects real progress.
In the area of electricity, we had long been neglected until Hon. Boya provided and ensured the full installation of over 15 transformers across the two local government areas. This has drastically improved the power supply situation and enhanced livelihoods.
His efforts in empowerment and poverty alleviation are unmatched. He has empowered thousands of youths and women in various ways:
1. Distribution of cars to party members and supporters
2. Provision of over 1,000 machines, including tricycles, sewing machines, and grinding machines
3. Distribution of over 2,000 bags of rice, computers, and other essential items
Due to his exceptional performance, party members and supporters have continued to call on Hon. Aliyu Wakili Boya to contest for the governorship in the upcoming election in 2027 in appreciation.
Hon.Aliyu Wakili Boya as a loyal and disciplined party man, he has remained silent, choosing instead to wait for the party’s decision. If not called upon to run for governor, he is expected to retain his seat in the House of Representatives for the 2027 elections, representing Fufore/Song.
Given his commitment, integrity, development-oriented leadership, honesty, and generosity, I am confident that he will win effortlessly against any challenger.
I wish him continued success in his leadership journey and political career.
