The state secretary of the ruling People’s Democratic Party in Adamawa State, Abdullahi Adamu Prambe has described as false insinuations that the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is exerting pressure on governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to appoint his son in his cabinet.
Prambe noted that by virtue of their contributions and intellectual capacity, Atiku’s children are capable of holding political offices not only at the state level but even at the federal level.
He noted that during the gubernatorial campaigns that ushered in the current PDP administration in the state, Atiku’s children have played superlative roles leading to the victory of the party.
“We criss crossed all nooks and crannies of Adamawa State together with Atiku’s children. They have played strategic role in the coming of this administration. It is therefore trite for anyone to say their father is pushing for their cabinet appointment because they are on their personal merits, accomplishments and contributions to the party, eminently qualified to hold political appointments,” he said.
Prambe noted that the fact that Atiku’s children remained committed to the success of the Fintiri campaign at the expense of their own fathers ambition in the build up to the general election make them important stakeholders in the government who should be given equal stakes as any other party man in the state.
