As the All Progressives Congress (APC) fixed October 2nd 2021 for its state congress election in the country, the Adamawa state care taker organising Secretary, Ahmad Lawal has declared his interest to contest for the position of the state’s chairman of the party.
Lawal disclosed his intention at a press conference in Yola Tuesday stressing that his grass root experience, capacity and capability would be his watch words in consolidating the party’s giant strides of successes.
Lawal stated that if entrusted with the position of state chairman of the party by their esteemed delegates in the forthcoming state congress, he will make sure unity of purpose is maintained in the party.
He opined that what brought the party to present position of loosing gubernatorial election in 2019 was lack of peaceful internal working relationship among the ranking members of the party pledging that if given the opportunity that will be history.
“In APC Adamawa state chapter I am the most consistent positive voice either promoting or defending the party always,I believe I have discharged my duties creditably and now is the time to move a step further.
“I have diligently served the interest of building a cohesive and robust party at both the state and the National level with the clear view of serving Nigerians.
“I have all its takes to hold that exalted office with the knowledge,experience grass root appeal,deep understanding of the party’s ethos,values,constitution and manifesto as well as interest of our members.
“Therefore I called you here to declare my interest in contesting the post of state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Adamawa state chapter”.Lawal declared.
Lawal called on relevant party stakeholders in the state to support his ambition with a view of salvaging their party from collapsing.
