The one-day training was supported by the Foreign, Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO), UKaid.

Speaking at the training on Friday in Maiduguri, the Executive Director of Allamin Foundation, Hajiya Hamsatu Allamin, said the training would strengthen the capacity of the NGOs under the umbrella of North East Transitional Network (NETJUN) in mobilizing communities on transitional Justice.

Allamin said the training would also identify strategies of transitional Justice advocacy and build the CSOs capacity in survivour-centred and evidence-based transitional justice advocacy.

Also speaking, a consultant on transitional Justice, Mr Samuel Orahii,  said the training was timely as many communities in Borno gradually moved from conflict to stabilization.

Orhii urged the participants to make maximum use of the knowledge gained from the training in enhancing reconciliation and social cohesion at the community level.

Many of the participants who spoke, lauded the capacity building training, pointing out that they had gained a lot for a more effective approach in promoting justice and reconciliation in Borno.

The training, which involved discussions and series of group work, was facilitated by Dr Lawan Balami, a Management and Evaluation (M&E) Consultant.
