The National Secretariat of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ)  is set to unveil the NAWOJ Humanity-First  initiative(NAHFI) in Maiduguri as part of its corporate  social responsibility.

This is contained in a press statement on Wednesday signed by NAWOJ National Secretary, Wasilah Ladan.

The initiative, according to Aisha Ibrahim, National Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) is targeted at feeding both women, men, children  and extended families during religious and other festivities like Easter, Sallah and Christmas across the country.

The  initiative has been the  pet project of the National Chairperson for over 20 years and she now wishes to bring it to the association  as part of its corporate social responsibility to humanity.

The benefits of  Humanity-First Initiative, according to the National Chairperson, include spiritual healing, and fulfillment of one’s social responsibility to the community and society at large.

The maiden event is expected to feed about 150 people, the National Chairperson stated and about 1000 at the end of the exercise.

Easter NAHFI will be held in Plateau, Sallah in Kano, while Christmas will be hosted in Port Harcourt.

“As part of the unveiling today, some Islamic clerics will deliver a 30-minute lecture before breaking the religious fast.

“Christian clerics  will also be invited to replicate the same during other festivities across the nation.

“We enjoin all well meaning people to key into this service to humanity,” the statement added.
