The President of National Union of Adamawa State Students (NUADSS), Comrade Gaddafi Hussaini, has lauded Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa for his commitment to restore the lost glory of education in the state.
Hussaini made the commendation Monday in Yola while addressing the press on successes recorded by his five months old administration.
“After we got sworn into office, we did not fold our hands waiting for miracles to happen. We stepped our boots on the ground and marched forward with our advocacy, meeting and expressing our problems to the right stakeholders.
“It was as a result one of these advocacy visits that we now boast of this brand new union vehicle, fully donated by our elders from the Nigeria Union of Teachers under the sound and visionary leaders of Comrade Rodney Nathan,” Hussaini said.
He also noted that his administration was also focusing on skills’ acquisition for indigent students.
“We will be focusing on personal development and skills acquisition for our members. We will partner with relevant organizations and stakeholders to empower our members with the requisite skills and knowledge to become creators of businesses and value or to become more employable.
“This is inline with our vision in NUADSS of making our members productive and self-sustaining and inline with the vision of his Excellency Governor Fintiri to transform the economy of Adamawa State,” Hussaini.
Hussaini said the construction of the union permanent secretariat has commenced in earnest and work had reached advanced stage.
“We are going to name the secretariat after Governor Fintiri for his administration commitment to education in the state,” Hussaini said.
