Adamawa SDP makes history: Emerges first opposition party to flagg off Guber campaign at Ribadu square

~ Receives thousands of defectors from APC, PDP, others

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Adamawa state is in the cups of history for being the first opposition political party to flagg off its Gubernatorial campaign at Ribadu square amidst stiff opposition by state authorities.

The flagg off of the gubernatorial campaign has attracted thousands of party faithfuls and defectors from other political parties to Ribadu square on Thursday as Yola stands still during he epoch making activity.

Security operatives had a hectic time controlling the surging crowd that attended the rally which even became more rowdy when the motorcade of the Gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Umar Ardo who came to the venue with the presidential candidate of the party, Prince Adewolw Adebayo and national chairman of the party, Alh. Shehu Musa Gabam arrived the venue.

The enthusiastic crowd immediately erupted into pro SDP slogans saying “Adamawa Sai Ardo, Adamawa sai mai ilimi, 2023 sai mai capacity et al,” adding that Ardo is only man with the composure, exposure, integrity and wherewithal to bail the state out of the woods.

In his speech, the gubernatorial candidate of SDP Ardo who expressed optimism in the party’s victory come 2023 urged the people to double the support by going to all the nooks and crannies of the state to sell the party.

He emphasized that it has become imperative for the people to shun PDP and APC over their woeful performance in the past as they are behind the present predicament being faced by the nation.

Ardo said people should not exercise any fear during the 2023 general election as the incursion of current electronic voting will make it very difficult for unscrupulous elements to compromise the electoral system.

Also speaking, the national chairman of the party, Alh. Shehu Musa Gabam urged the people to remain faithful to the party because it is the only party that will rescue Nigeria.

He also expressed optimism that with the mammoth crowd he saw, SDP will form the next government in Adamawa State come 2023.

Also speaking, Prince Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate of the party urged the people to ensure securing PVCs ahead of the 2023 general election.

He urged the people to do away with the two dominant political parties in the country whom he said were responsible for the sorry state the country has found itself into.

In his speech, leader of the defectors from other political parties, Henry Kadams said they decided to leave their parties because the political parties have failed the people adding that only SDP represents the hopes and aspiration of Nigerians.

He promised to deploy his massive grassroot network to ensure that the party consolidates it traction ahead of the 2023 election urging the masses to rally round SDP so as to be rescued from anarchy and maladministration which the PDP and APC hoisted over the years.
