The crisis rocking Adamawa PDP has taken a new dimension as the faction known as Reformed PDP (R-PDP) commenced statewide registration exercise in 226 wards across the state.
Flagging-off the exercise in Girei LGA, the state Chairman of the Interim Committee of the R-PDP, Alhaji Jauro Hammanjoda, said the exercise was going on simultaneous across the 226 wards in the state.
Hammanjoda said that the free registration exercise was going on with the knowledge of the national headquarters of the party, who supplied the cards and register.
Hammanjoda said that 16,000 cards were distributed to all the wards in the state for the commencement of the exercise.
Hammanjoda urged PDP members yet to register and members of other political parties wishing to join PDP to come out register for their free membership card.
He said they have lost confidence in the current leadership of PDP in the state who he accused of violating the party constitution at will.
He lauded some party stakeholders, particularly Dr Umar Ardo and Sen. Cliff Abbo of Adamawa North Senatorial District for identifying with the renewed PDP in its effort to rescue the party.
Also speaking at Limawa ward of Yola North LGA where he registered, the Vice Chairman of the Interim Committee, Alhaji Ibrahim Yaro, reiterated their commitment to rescue the party and urged members to remain steadfast in the mission by ensuring that the statewide exercise succeeded.
In his remarks at Makama Ward in Yola South LGA the Deputy Publicity Secretary of the committee, Ibrahim Karlahi said the exercise was a clear signal to the Tahir Shehu led executive that there days are numbered.
“We are waiting for the setting up of committees to finally decide the faith of Tahir Shehu led exco that has been violating the party constitution with impunity,” Karlahi said.
