The crisis rocking Adamawa chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has taken a new dimension with Sen. Cliff Abbo representing Adamawa North Senatorial District declaring support for the faction created by Dr Umar Ardo known as the Renewed PDP (R- PDP).
Abbo in a political Programme by a local radio station in Yola, said if anyone should be blamed for the crisis in Adamawa PDP that led to factionalization that person is the Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri who he said was running the party as a personal property.
Abbo lauded Dr Umar Ardo who initiated the protest by some party members that led to the formation of R-PDP in Adamawa describing Ardo as a fearless man that deserved to be supported to redeem the party.
“Dr Umar Ardo is fearless and I support him in this movement. I am with him,” Abbo said.
The senator claimed that the genesis of the party crisis in Adamawa was the way Gov. Fintiri hijacked the party and handpicked party candidates for the local government election held in December.
“Fintiri should know that you cannot beat people and insist that they should not cry,” Abbo said.
The R-PDP had already inaugurated a 12-Member Interim committee with Hammanjoda Girei the chairmanship.
