A ranking member of Adamawa emirate council and district head of Jimeta who also doubles as the Dan Isa Adamawa, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Baba Paris, has expressed support for governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s reelection bid come 2023 general polls.
The monarch, made the statement in Hausa, on Wednesday during the ongoing commissioning of road projects in Jimeta metropolis, executed by governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s led government.
” We are here to thank Fintiri for what he has done to us. Campaign in Adamawa is over because weather you like it or not, we are doing eight years.
” If we must tell the truth, everyone knows how Jimeta was when this governor straddles power. Today, the road to the monarch’s house has been constructed.
” He has done a fly over which you can only see in Lagos. But God has brought these infrastructures to Jimeta now,” he said.
Expressing the gratitude of Jimeta people, the traditional ruler told the governor to go to sleep as the people of Jimeta are the eyes of Adamawa State.
” We are grateful to his excellency Fintiri for the projects. People of Jimeta are the eyes of Adamawa State,” he said.
Baba Paris urged the people for their unabashed support to Fintiri come 2023 gubernatorial polls, saying; ” I gave you in trust the custody of Fintiri. Who ever breached the trust of the monarch, knows the consequences.”
To reiterate his support for the governor, the traditional ruler repeated, ” I gave you in trust the custody of Fintiri. Did you accept it?” To which there was a thunderous yes by the cheering crowd.
” Come 2023 we will reinstate him for the second term, then I will collect my trust from you on that day. I’m not a politician but I must celebrate my hero. May Allah help the governor,” Baba Paris added.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has in commemoration of 2021 democracy day, earmarked two weeks for the commissioning of his land mark projects across the state which will climax in the commissioning of the first flyover bridge on Saturday.
