Political parties in Adamawa have commenced the sales of forms to aspirants ahead of November Local Government election in the state.
The political parties have fixed prizes for their nomination and expression of interest forms.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which is the ruling party in the state fixed N550,000 for chairmanship and N110,000 for councillorship.
According to a statement by the State Organizing Secretary of PDP, Alhaji Hamza Madagali, women and physically challenged persons were however to pay N70,000 for chairmanship and N30,000 for Councillor.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) also in a statement by its Organizing Secretary, Alhaji Ahmed Lawan, pegged N250,000 for chairmanship candidate and N70,000 for Councillor.
“Female aspirants and physically challenged persons will only pay for expression of interest forms which is N50,000 for chairmanship and N20,000 for Councillorship,” Lawan said.
On its part, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in a statement by its State Organizing Secretary, Mr Aziz Jibrillah, announced N200,000 for chairmanship and N50,000 for Councillor.
Jibrilla also said that women and physically challenged aspirants in SDP would only pay for expression of interest, which means N50,000 for chairmanship and N10,000 for Councillor.
The State Chairman of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Alhaji Yahaya Hammajulde, announced that chairmanship candidate in the party is to pay N160,000, while Councillor is to pay N55,000.
Hammanjulde said women and physically challenged are to pay N40,000 and N20,000 for chairmanship and Councillorship respectively.
Meanwhile, a statement signed by the Executive Chairman of Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), Alhaji Isa Shettima, said the election would hold in November but did not give a specific date.
It directed political parties that would participate in the election to ensure they conducted their primaries and submitted the names of candidate latest by October 10.
