Women in Politics in Adamawa have urged for more involvement of women in decision making and policy formulation in the state.
The women made the call during a courtesy call on the Speaker of Adamawa House of Assembly, Alhaji Aminu Iya-Abbas in his office.
Spokesman of the women, Comfort Ibrahim, said that involving more women would ensure adequate representation for the women to effectively contribute their quota.
Ibrahim that said the people of the state deserve more elected and appointed women in position of authority, adding that the present situation were the women have only one female House of Assembly member and three commissioners was not encouraging.
She urged for the assembly support in giving the women a sense of belonging by promoting more involvement of women in government.
Responding, Speaker Aminu Iya-Abbas, who spoke on the effective role of women in nation building, assured them of the assembly’s support at all time.
