Adamawa Female Evangelist Sues Pastor For Refusing To Marry Her


A Female Evangelist, Kwanye Tumba has dragged the Pastor of House Chapel in Karewa ward of Yola North Local Government Area, Marwa Tumba to Yola Area Court II for breach of trust by refusing to marry her.

Tumba told Judge Nuhu Musa Garta led Area Court that Pastor Marwa Tumba, had promised to marry her, but dumped her for another girl after squandering  her hard earned money and wasted her life.

Tumba told the court that she first met the acclaimed man of God after a prayer meeting at Yolde Pate ward of Yola South LGA in 2019, during which he told her that he saw a vision that she got a husband.

She said Pastor Marwa informed her that she is now his wife and immediately he asked her to start sowing a seed, which did by giving him N1000.

According to her, Marwa later visited her in her apartment which she built when she was working with an NGO.

“I welcomed him, cooked for him, and from there we started relationship with a promise that he will marry me as seen in his vision”, Tumba said

She narrated how her Pastor boyfriend later told her to resign from her job and sell her house before getting married, and that she agreed and tendered her resignation letter and sold the house.

According to her, when the money of the house was paid to her, she immediately transferred the sum of N50,000 as tithe into the account of the pastor and used the remaining money in supporting the Church from time to time until all the money got finished.

Tumba told the court that it got to a time that the pastor asked her to give him the list of all items as provided by tradition for their marriage which she did.

She said that he later asked her to go to her parents in Michika and wait for him to come for proper introduction and arrangement for the marriage which he never did.

“Since then, he was no longer picking my calls again. He abandoned me after eating my money, making me to now reside in an uncompleted building selling vegetable to survive”, Tumba lamented.

The defendant, however denied the allegations by Tumba.

The case was adjourned to February 4.
