The Permanent Secretary in the Taraba State Ministry of Water Resources, Mrs. Susana Jonathan, Deputy Registrar of the state University, Mr. Sanusi Sa’ad as well as a missionary Jeremiah Tweinta who kidnapped by gunmen have regained their freedom, police and local sources have confirmed.
Our correspondent gathered that the abductees were released after payment of ransoms by their relatives, though it was not know how much was paid by to the abductors who earlier demanded over N100million but their release followed series of negotiation between relatives and the abductors.
It could be recalled that Mrs. Jonathan was kidnapped in her house around the ATC area of Jalingo at about 2:17am on Sunday, while the deputy registrar Sanusi Sa’ad, was earlier kidnapped in his house in the university’s quarters, a few meters away from the house of the abducted Permanent Secretary.
The police spokesman in the state David Misal has confirmed their release Misal said that ,’’ Yes both the permanent secretary, deputy registrar and the evangelist were release and they are helping us with useful information that can help in tracking down the kidnappers.
