The Borno Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), under the able leadership of Comrade Abdulkareem Haruna, has lauded Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno for his administration’s visionary leadership for the past six years.
The commendation by the NUJ is contained in a statement on Thursday by the Secretary of the Council, Chiroma Ali Ibrahim, to commemorate the 2025 democracy day and six anniversary of Zulum administration.
“The entire working journalists in the state, extend the warmest congratulations to His Excellency, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, on the occasion of his sixth anniversary in office as the Governor of Borno State, and on the celebration of Democracy Day.
“Your Excellency, your six years in office have been marked by visionary leadership, unwavering dedication, and transformative governance. Your commitment to the security, development, and well-being of the people of Borno State is evident in the numerous achievements recorded across various sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, and agriculture.
“The NUJ Borno State Council acknowledges and commends your administration’s efforts in promoting press freedom, fostering open communication, and ensuring the safety and security of journalists in the state. We appreciate your commitment to upholding the principles of democracy and good governance.
“As we celebrate Democracy Day, we recognize the importance of participatory governance and the role of a vibrant media in promoting transparency and accountability. We reaffirm our commitment to working collaboratively with your administration to ensure that the voices of the people are heard and that the progress of Borno State continues unabated.
