6 people kidnap in Fufore LG of Adamawa

Gunmen have kidnapped six people in Gurin village of Fufore/Gurin LGA of Adamawa.

Confirming the incident, the member representing Fufore/Gurin Constituency in Adamawa House of Assembly, Alhaji Shuaibu Babas, said the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday.

“I was out of town and was just briefed of the incident. I want to call for calm from my people.

“This is a shocking development and I urged government to do something about the growing trend.

“Security need to be enhanced alongside intelligence gathering to check this ugly development,” Babas said.

A resident of Gurin who simply identified himself as Dahiru said the incident took place at the outskirts of the village when the victims went to check their cattle grazing at a particular area reserved for that purpose.

“The kidnappers first attacked a car with five people where they picked four people and allowed one to go.

“They later attacked two people on motorcycle joining them with the four to make six people,” Dahiru said.

Dahiru said the incident was devastating to the village which is bordering Cameroon.

“We are devastated and look onto God for Devine intervention,” Dahiru said.

Effort to get police reaction did not yield result as the State Police Command spokesman, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Ngoroje did not pick his calls as at the time of filling this report.
