2025 Eid-el-Fitr: Emnamu foundation organizes interfaith dialogue

Nigeria’s Frontline philanthropic organization, The Emnamu Foundation, has introduced an innovative idea aimed at fostering interfaith harmony by organizing a dialogue between Christians and Muslims to mark the 2025 Eid-el-Fitr celebration on Sunday.

According to Godwin Chakuyada, a national coordinator of the foundation, the idea is to bridge communication gap between the adherents of the two religions and strengthen ties of unity, mutual respect and harmony for a lasting peace in the country.

“Through its Peace Link Initiative, the foundation today organized a love feast in Kala’a, the hometown of its President, Dr. Emmanuel N. Musa. The event brought together spiritual leaders from both religions to emphasize the importance of unity, peace, and coexistence.

“The overarching goal of this initiative is to promote peace and conflict resolution at the grassroots level. To achieve that noble goal, we must ensure harmony among adherents of different faiths,” he said.

Speaking at the gathering, Malam Hassan, the Chief Imam of the community, highlighted how Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) lived in peace with non-Muslims, earning their love and respect. The Islamic cleric urged all and sundry to embrace mutual love and understanding.

Similarly, Pastor Tayani Elkanah who re-echoed same sentiments called on the two adherents to treat each other with utmost respect and eschew any form of bitterness, emphasizing that Christ mingled with sinners and God, in His wisdom, has placed people in different religions for a purpose.

The Divisional Police Officer, SP A.A. Yusuf, commended the communities within his jurisdiction for their cooperation and assured them of continued commitment to effective community policing.

Other notable speakers, including Dr. Musa Terrang, Baba Sule, and Hon. Francis, underscored the significance of unity and peaceful coexistence.

The event was a resounding success, reflecting the foundation’s unwavering commitment to fostering peace, love, and mutual respect among all people, regardless of religious affiliation.

In a similar vein, the Volunteer group, Hong, celebrated the day with inmates, in a bid to extend love, kindness and care to the inmates as exemplified by the didactic teachings of the holy month of Ramadan.
