Adamawa state Governorship Candidate of the Social Democratic Party, (SDP), Dr. Umar Ardo has accused the two major political parties (APC/PDP) of destroying the country in all strata of developments.
Ardo forwarded his accusations in an interview with Journalists in Yola Weekend urging electorates to vote out those who he claimed to have been in positions of authority since the inception of democracy in 1999.
Ardo who was among the founding fathers of Peoples Democratic Party in Adamawa State but defected to SDP stated that impunity and injustice forced him out of his former party noting that they brought us to the present hardship in all spheres of life.
Ardo opined that the All Progressives Congress and Peoples Democratic Party should be held responsible for collapsing this country noting that they are the cause of the terrible situation facing the country due to maladministration and corruption.
He therefore charged the electorates to locate those who collapsed the country and not to look at their portion or side during elections rather vote for credible candidates with integrity from other political platforms not necessarily his party (SDP).
“The PDP and APC were voted in various positions of authority since 1999 and are therefore responsible for the destruction of this country politically and economically.
“Our people who are the electorate should not even look at their (PDP & APC) side again when it comes to elections but rather pick from other political parties with the aim of rebuilding this country as a whole”.Ardo advised.
On the debated APC Muslin-Muslim ticket, Ardo said the decision of the party must have came out of political calculation with the Northern part of the country dominated with Muslims while Southern region being dominated by the Christians.
Ardo advanced that there is no issue in the APC’s Mulslim/Muslim ticket noting that such arrangements is aimed to achieve victory at the polls come 2023 elections but some politicians are making politics out of religion unnecessarily.
He however warned electorate to disregard the politicians making noise out of the Muslim/Muslim ticket who he accused of having nothing to offer rather hiding behind religion to create disaffection among Nigerians for their selfish interests.
“As far I am concerned there no issue in this thing, it is all about political calculation and it shouldn’t make politics out of religion and those making politics out religion are those who can’t even deliver their ballot box,” Ardo said.
