How I supervise the kidnap of my neighbor’s wife, eighth-months-old-son – Suspect

In a starling confession one of the paraded suspect, Buba Mohammed also known as Mallum has disclosed that despite the assistance he is getting from the family of his wealthier neighbour, he organized the kidnap of his neighbor’s wife as well as his eight-months-old baby boy, but  however said, he regretted the action.

The suspect disclosed that he connived with a kidnapping syndicate operating in Adamawa and Taraba States to carry out the heinous act.

Mohammed said that he was prodded by greed, poverty and pressure by one of the kidnap syndicate members to take part in the crime as the accomplice told him that the crime, presents a golden opportunity for him to rake in millions of naira.

According to him, the member of the syndicate, simply known as Wakili who was the major brain behind his involvement noted that it will be too bad for him not to harken to his demand in view of the fact that the elder brother of his neighbor is a top government official who can cough out millions.

Mohammed noted that he played the insider role in the kidnap by availing other members of the group information regarding the movement of their target in the build up to the kidnap as well as other vital information during negotiations.

He added that they were not lucky to meet their target, Aliyu Sulaiman, when they struck, prompting them to abduct his wife and eight-month-old son.

He noted that the devil pushed him to carry out the dastardly act saying that he later regretted involvement as the elder brother to his neighbor used to be very kind to him, adding that if he finally gets out of the present maze, he will never indulge in crime again.

He also asked for forgiveness from Aliyu Sulaiman family for betraying them despite their kindness to him.

“ I capitalized on the close relationship between me and the family to monitor the family’s actions during the negotiations for ransom payment and usually give update to my partners in crime.

” But to my eternal regret after the operation was executed, they only gave me N60,000 out of the the N1,100,000 they collected as ransom which left me in this quagmire.

“ I’m pleading for Mercy, it’s the work of the devil, I don’t really know what has come over me,” he confessed.

Narrating his ordeals, the victim Aliyu Sulaiman said he found it difficult to accept that Mallum, whom his family assisted for decades, could connive with others to hatch such a notoriously devilish plan against him.

” I always convey his children to school with my car and bring them back whenever they closed alongside my own kids. I always make sure during Sallah festivities I give him my own little help and my brothers support his family upkeep whenever the need arises but he decided to pay me back with evil.
